What is Azure Information Protection and features
Azure Information Protection (AIP) is a cloud-based solution that enables organizations to classify and protect documents and emails by applying labels. Labels can be applied:
- Automatically by administrators using rules and conditions
- Manually by users
- By a combination where administrators define the recommendations shown to users
Microsoft Azure Information Protection can be purchased either standalone or through one of the following Microsoft licensing suites:

Data Protection in Office 365
Office online services provide data protection (encryption + authentication + use rights) capabilities, which use Azure Information Protection.
However, not all Office 365 subscriptions include the protection feature provided by Azure Information Protection.
